About Joe
I am a psychotherapist with extensive postgraduate training and experience. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy and a Higher Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Dublin Business School; a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh; and a Post Graduate Certificate from the Centre For Freudian Analysis and Research, London. I am an accredited member of the IAHIP (Irish Association of Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy) .
I have worked with adults, young adults, and adolescents in private practice, hospital, educational, and community settings in Ireland and internationally, and I bring this breadth of experience into a thoughtful, relational approach to psychotherapy.
I work as a psychodynamic psychotherapist, with a particular interest in how early relationships and unconscious patterns shape how we experience ourselves and others in the present. I aim to offer a thoughtful and containing therapeutic space, where you can explore your inner world at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship itself, which I see as a central space for insight, healing, and change. I pay close attention to recurring themes, unspoken dynamics, and the ways past experiences can show up in the present, helping to foster greater self-understanding and emotional integration. My practice is informed by contemporary psychodynamic thinking, attachment theory, and an awareness of trauma, and I also draw on humanistic and integrative approaches, adapting my way of working to what feels most helpful for you.
